WHAT DO YOU WANT?!

About 9 months ago, I remember sitting in Satsang at my dear friend Ash’s home and having him ask us what we wanted to manifest for the New Year. One could call this our New Year’s Intention. I thought for a while of all the things I desired at that time: love from a partner, financial freedom, true independence, etc. As I thought of all those things, I remember how uncomfortable it felt to create a place of “need” or “inadequacy” for myself. I felt like I was creating more and more stress and after awhile, I thought in my head, “I want to not want”. For a moment, I debated whether I would even say that aloud, but it was truly what I wanted most: to simply not want. I stated the intention into the Universe and Let it Be.

Last night during a conversation with a close friend, I finally realized that I was so much closer than I even realized and that it took all of the events that occurred this year to help me see that I indeed do not need absolutely anything.

Now don’t get the wrong idea, this does not mean that I walk around aimlessly without any goals or purpose. I am passionate about many things: writing, creativity, music, expression, people, etc, however I know that none of these things define me. No material accomplishment or possession will ever define my self-worth or talent. I can remove all of these “wants” and I am still left with my raw essence of Love and simply Being.

So I would like to ask you:

Why place stress upon yourself yearning for something you do not have? Why waste energy attempting to recreate a past moment or force a future? Why create negative feelings trying to make a person see or feel something the way you do?
In all honesty, all of these “wants” are hopeless, because ultimately what IS, just IS, and no wanting, worrying, or yearning will change reality.

I have found that “not wanting anything” is a direct path to true freedom. “Not wanting” does not equate to laziness or apathy, rather “not wanting” is simply FAITH.

Instead of being in a negative state, Why not simply state your Intentions and ALLOW? Be OPEN to the Infinite Possibilities than can occur at any moment if you are Available and Willing. Have Faith that what is in your path, will be in your path when the timing is correct.

By all means, feel free to execute the necessary steps to achieve your goals in your career, spiritual life, family/love life, etc, but do them from a place of KNOWING. Knowing what is Yours, is Already Yours. What is yours is always revealed to you and when this happens everything makes complete sense. Remember that wherever you are at this very moment is exactly where you need to be. Everything that surrounds you, what you are doing, who is in your life, all of these things have been perfectly placed here for this moment, And this moment will last however long it must, until a new moment comes to help you move along your personal path.

So I urge you to enjoy every single moment, the ones that bring you pain, pleasure, sadness, and happiness. Appreciate everything and everyone you have right now. Do not waste your time wanting a past and a future so much, that you fail to see the beauty of this moment. If you open your eyes, the eyes of the spirit, you will see that everything you have ever wanted is already Here... in this Moment.

Bless,
Marisol

From Up Here

Hey there Beautiful People,

So tonight I saw Pink’s Amazing Trapeze Performance of her track “Sober” on the MTV VMA’S and was so inspired that I wrote this piece to complement it. You can watch the 4 minute act on the link below and you’ll get a much better feel for my piece. Bless, Marisol

From Up Here

Walking barefoot on a one way track to nowhere
This time I won’t look back, or wander side to side
Took the beaten path a few times one too many
Got a new road and I don’t care to hitch a ride

And Up here its much easier to breathe
Up here there’s no one else I really even need
From way up here their voices have no meaning
Cause from up here there’s so much I really see

They said, eyes closed, just hold on tightly
but with nothing grasped I feel like I can fly
They said, three times, the world belongs to you
but the more I claimed, the more I slowly died

Those games will not suffice another season
next time I hear those words, I’ll listen to my advice
And I don’t care to hear mellow-dramatic reasons,
next time I give me up, I think I’ll just think twice

He said, hold on, your almost done here
and all the while I thought I’d only just begun
He said, three times, you’re gonna make it,
and now I see that I’m the only One

Sky high, you’ll never touch me
Up Here, can’t even see the madness in their eyes
So High, can’t even feel you
Think I’ll stay here for another thousand lives

They said, Hold on, you’re gonna make it,
and now I see that I’m the only One
They said, three times, the world Belongs to you
and now I see that I’m the only One

BEING OPEN HEARTED

Instead of my Usual Poetry, today I have some thoughts I would like to share. This is also great practice for my books which I will writing very soon. ;) Again, I want to thank ALL of YOU, For it is through my Moments with You that I Come to Realize my Innate Everflowing Wisdom….
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I often have people ask me how to remain so open despite being hurt, as we all have been subject to pain through human interaction and personal relationships. So today, I have a few thoughts that I'd like to share...
I believe that we all are innately Loving Beings. One of the most basic and primitive human desires is the need for love and physical affection. We are born like this. Observe any young child and you will notice their natural way of being is one of Love, affection, and joy. So one might ask, What occurs that changes this?
As we grow, we begin to explore human interaction, in school, on a playground, with friends, as we begin dating, and so on. Initially, we act based on our true childlike nature__ that of Love. However, this Love is not always met equally by others. Sometimes its met with ego, jealousy, insecurity, fear, impulse and other feelings people possess that prevent them from acting from Pure Love. Gradually, we begin to fear that being open hearted can also be a painful process. So we alter our responses during human interaction and relationships to match those that we are being met with. We begin to lose trust, close our hearts, and mask our childlike nature.
The MOST IMPORTANT THING I WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND is the hurt only occurs when we take other’s actions and words personally. Remember, anything that anyone has ever said or done to you HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU, AND EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THEM AND WHERE THEY ARE AT IN THEIR STATE OF MIND.
Their actions and words or lack thereof are not a reflection of your self-worth, EVER.
When you can truly grasp and believe this Truth, it becomes instantly easier to open your heart because you begin to understand that no one else has the power to hurt you. Only YOU can hurt you. You hurt yourself by the way you perceive each situation.
I know many of you may still feel that being open is a scary place to be. Many of you may feel vulnerable at the thought of exposing yourself, expressing your feelings, and so on. Others may feel it is naive to be so trusting in a world where so many others have been conditioned to act the opposite. These reactions are perfectly understandable. Luckily, we have all been given a very special gift that goes along perfectly with our open heart___ INTUITION.
Our Intuition is our “gut feeling”, it does not come from the mind, rather an innate knowing that we have about every person and situation in our lives. It tells us whether we feel “safe” around them or should “be careful”. Our intuition is most powerful when we are AWARE. You are aware when you LISTEN to yourself, the inner voice we all possess. This voice speaks to us through our bodies. When you are unsure about someone or something, you can close your eyes, bring your attention to the issue at hand, and listen to your body. If it tingles, feels excited, or alive, that is a sign that you are exactly where you need to be. But if your body tenses up, feels uneasy or nervous in your stomach, then that is your higher self warning you to be extra aware of the situation.
Ultimately, our Intuition and our Open Hearts combined, can allow us to live more Joyfully, to fully Explore and Experience every Moment without Fear. It allows us to take chances, express our feelings, and be open to the Infinite Possibilities that each day has to offer. Remember, You are the Creator of Your Life. Being Open Hearted allows You to LIVE FULLY and Savor All of Life’s Beauty in it Many Forms.
Love is Life and Life is Free.
Namaste.
Marisol
OSHO -
"The heart is like a flower - unless it is open it cannot release its fragrance into the world. The fragrance of the heart is made up of the qualities and virtues of our spirit. Most of us have learned how to keep our heart closed in a world that would trample all over us if we let it. Being open hearted today seems to require tremendous courage. It is a courage which comes only when we realise that no one can hurt us, no matter what they say or do. They may hurt our body, but if we have realised we are spirit, nothing outside can touch us, if we so decide. Little by little, practice opening your heart to those you think have hurt you. Realise it wasnt them that hurt you, it was yourself. And it taught you not to trust and you closed your heart. A closed heart is in need of opening. And when you do, you will have begun to heal yourself. "
